About College:

Shri Mariyappa. Balappa. Kalakonnavar Government First Grade College, Naregal was established on 9th August 2007. Shri K.G. Bandi, honourable MLA, Ron constituency has made a great effort to establish this college during his tenure. The college has made a humble beginning in the initial days at the Government Primary School, adjacent to the Naregal bus stand. The great donors Shri Hanamantappa.M.Kalakonnavar and his brother Shri Ramesh. M. Kalakonnavar have donated their valuable land of 2.21 Acres in the name of their late father Shri Mariyappa. Balappa. Kalakonnavar. This land is located at opposite to Kodikoppa village, Abbigeri road just few minutes’ walk able distance from Naregal bus stand.

Shri K. G. Bandi Honorable MLA Ron, has laid the foundation stone for construction of new building on 11th November 2010. It was shifted to the present premises in the year 2013.  The founder Principal Shri G.C.Gummgolmath, laid the firm foundation for the college and responsible for the growth of this college by inclusion in 2(f) UGC.

The College conducts a range of courses well-suited to cater to the diverse needs of the evolving higher-educational scenario at the national as well as global level. An overview of the courses offered by us is presented as below.

The College has the credit of having organized IQAC Sponsored State level workshop on Job skills and Personality development, Special lecture series, Faculty Development Programs, Taluka level Skill development Program, Karnataka University Dharwad 2nd Zone Valley Ball tournament and many events on the eve of National Science Day for the schools of Naregal.

Major Achievements of the college

  • College (NSS Unit) won 1st place in District level award in Swachh Barat Summer Internship 2.0 Programme-2019.
  • 4 Karnataka University Blues in Mallakambha.
  • 1 Karnataka University Blue in Kho-Kho.
  • Praveen Akki won 2nd place in 2nd Zone Kho-Kho.
  • Pushpa Godi won 3rd place National level Atya Patya Championship and 2nd place in 4th senior (Men and women) south zone Championship.
  • Chaitra Ganiger won 3rd place for Solo Acting in State level Inter Collegiate Cultural Fest 2013 held at Mysore (Kala Mandir).
  • College has won 1st place for Skit in KUD Gadag District Zone Youth Festival held at SA College Naregal.  
  • Nisar Ahmed Mulla (Purple Belt) won 3rd place in 1st National level open Kata Championship-2018, 1st place in 1st state level open Karate championship-2019 and 1st place in Kata and 3rd place in Kumit in 2nd All India Invitational Karate Championship-2019.  
  • Shanoor Begum Laxmeshwar (Green Belt) won 2nd place in All India Open Karate Championship 2018, 1st National level open Kata Chapionship-2018 and 1st State level open Karate Cchampionship-2019.
  • Basavaraj Hadpad won 2nd place in Inter Collegiate Men/Women Wrestling Competition-2019-20,
